Who Is The Least Romantic - Mel Gibson
Or Michael Richards
|
|
December
2006
This
July, Mel Gibson was pulled over in Malibu, CA, and
launched into a raving tirade about Jews. Not be outdone,
Michael Richards (who played 'Kramer' on Seinfeld) was
doing a stand-up act in this November and things got
out of control. Kramer used the "N" word liberally
and in a mean-spirited way making the audience feel
very, very uncomfortable, and unfortunately for the
actor all was caught on camera. What happened to Gibson,
the sex symbol that most women of the past few decades
have drooled over? Also, women in the office would commonly
talk about how cute 'Kramer' was how funny he would
be to date.

Who
did the most damage to their romance image: Gibson or
Richards? Our experts chime in.

"I'll
have to go with Richards on this one. Don't get me wrong...
What Mel Gibson did was just as stupid and inexcusable.
Yes, he was drunk but that doesn't matter. To me those
are twisted thoughts, which were unbridled and unrestrained
by all that booze. Richards was sober when he said all
that crap so that makes it worse. There was a lot of
sobering hate in his performance, but maybe he simply
is not a great comedian and let his material fly way
off mark. Still, I think Richards' was worse because
he said his garbage directly to an audience. Richards
also had less sex appeal to begin with - I can't see
women clamoring to strike up a romance with him."
We'll
buy that, Joe.

"I
know because I'm expected to vote for Richards because
he attacked African Americans. Guess what? You're damn
right. I'll let Jerry Seinfeld stick up for Jews and
go after Gibson. What Richards said was clearly unadulterated
racism in its purest form."
Sadly,
people that found either of them romantic to begin with
probably won't change very much. Interesting input,
Teddy.

"I'm
on the phone right now trying to find someone that cares
about this whole thing. I think it's not just Richards
and Gibson that are racist. We live in a racist society
and I don't mean one dominated by white people either….
In my experience, especially coming from a mixed background,
I have encountered just as much racism from minorities
as in the majority… It is something we all have to deal
with. I give Gibson and Richards both F's in romance
for these outbursts."
Thank
you, Anita. We hope they learn from their stupidity
as well.
